NHS e-Procurement Strategy
In April 2014, the UK Department of Health (DH) published its e-Procurement strategy directed at the National Health Service (NHS) and its suppliers. The goal of this initiative was to optimize and align e-Procurement practices for goods and services across the NHS.
The UK Department of Health requires NHS facilities and their provider network to use the GS1 and PEPPOL standards and communication networks. The implementation schedule for the system consists of different phases extending to 2020.
This White Paper covers the most important technical and legal aspects of the NHS e-Procurement system and the phases that must be completed for optimal implementation.
