In an increasingly digital Europe, citizens, businesses, and the public sector need a regulatory framework that provides security and legal certainty in electronic activities. These security mechanisms are contained in Regulation No. 910/2014, known as eIDAS. This new regulation grants electronic documents the same status as traditional paper documents. The regulation also states that it is necessary to have a certified and trusted document custody system to preserve them over time.
