Maintenance of Integration Flows

This is a critical service to ensure the scalability of your data integration platform over time.

This service requires EDICOM to take an active role, anticipating the changes and evolutions to be implemented in your solution each time there are changes or evolutions in the documents to be exchanged with your partners.

What do we mean by integration flow?

An integration flow includes all documents that are part of a key transaction.

For example, you could issue various types and versions of invoices through our platform (EDIFACT, X12, UBL, FacturaE, FatturaPA, CFDI, etc.).

While you might deploy multiple messages, they are all associated with a single integration flow—specifically, the one with invoices.

Tomorrow, it may be necessary to implement a change in the standard invoice in Mexico due to the release of a new version of the XML schema. Alternatively, a customer might decide to modify your EDI guide by requiring you to include a new data element in the EDIFACT schema that you send them. EDICOM will take responsibility for monitoring these changes and applying them immediately in our solution each time a modification occurs. This ensures that your data integration platform remains permanently up to date, guaranteeing that your key documents reach their intended recipients. It is the best assurance for the uninterrupted operation of your business.

We’ve used invoices as an example because they are straightforward, but the integration flow maintenance service affects more transactions, such as purchase orders. Just as it’s critical to send invoices, it’s equally important to ensure timely receipt of purchase orders from various customers, which may be sent in multiple formats that, like invoices, must evolve and adapt to new requirements.

EDICOM classifies integration flows as critical or optional. The "critical" flows included in your communications project will, by default, be covered by this service. Additionally, you can request the inclusion of the Integration Flow Maintenance Service for other processes that may not be classified as critical but could be significant for you.

  • Developing data integration proposals tailored to the features of widely used ERPs: SAP-Idoc, plain text structures, XML, etc.
  • Designing flows for constructing multi-standard data structures and/or integrating incoming documents into the customer's back office.
  • Conducting delivery, reception, and integration tests prior to production to verify the correct integration of documents with the customer's internal management system.
  • Maintaining flows to adapt to modifications that a data structure may undergo or to changes implemented by the main receivers in their EDI guides.
