EDICOM Recognized by EcoVadis as a Sustainable Company
The 2030 Agenda, promoted by the United Nations, stresses the importance of adopting sustainable development models through policies and practices that foster fair and equal societies with a neutral environmental footprint.
Companies and institutions are not exempt from this necessity, as they are integral components of the global community.
At EDICOM, we recognize the significance of this obligation and have embraced an active role in aligning our objectives with these sustainable development goals.
The 2030 Agenda
The 2030 Agenda lays out a comprehensive framework consisting of 17 objectives and 169 integrated and indivisible targets spanning the economic, social, and environmental areas.
This overarching strategy is poised to guide global development initiatives for the next 15 years. In committing to this agenda, States pledge to mobilize the necessary resources needed to implement through collaborative partnerships, prioritizing the needs of the most marginalized and vulnerable populations.
Although the 2030 Agenda implies a common and universal commitment, each country faces unique challenges on its path toward sustainable development. While maintaining full sovereignty over their wealth, resources, and economic activities, States will establish their own national targets, aligning them with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) outlined in the text approved by the General Assembly.
With the EcoVadis certification, EDICOM aligns itself with the social and environmental trends projected for the coming decades at the global level. Naturally, this addresses the needs of our clients, many of whom maintain very high levels of commitment to sustainability and require technology service providers that, like EDICOM, can reliably adhere to this commitment. More than 1,000 international companies also use EcoVadis as a benchmark to monitor the sustainability performance of their business partners.
What Does EDICOM Guarantee with the EcoVadis Certification?
The EcoVadis certification evaluates companies' policies and actions, as well as their published reports related to the environment, labor relations and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
EcoVadis' methodology and evaluation framework is built upon internationally recognized sustainability standards (Global Reporting Initiative, UN Global Compact, ISO 26000) and is overseen by a scientific CSR committee and supply chain experts, ensuring the credibility and accuracy of assessments pertaining to third-party Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
ECOVADIS
EDICOM has been awarded the silver medal by EcoVadis in recognition of its sustainability commitments.
With an overall score of 67 points out of 100, EDICOM ranks amongst the top 4% of companies in its sector.
Amongst all the categories evaluated, the results that particularly stand out were the results obtained in labor practices and human rights, as well as work ethics, achieving scores of 70 out of 100 in both categories.
By obtaining this accreditation, it reinforces EDICOM's commitment to a corporate policy based on rigorous auditing and continuous internal and external monitoring of all business processes. This adds to the numerous certifications in information security and process management, maintaining continuous controls over our activity and relations with clients, suppliers, and social agents. This approach ensures that corporate policies are firmly aligned with principles of good governance and sustainability in its broadest sense.
Companies that rely on EDICOM to carry out their data integration, EDI, or electronic invoicing projects can rest assured of having a technically and operationally efficient provider that prioritizes security and environmental responsibility through policies and procedures aligned with the principles of the 2030 Agenda. Sustainability Actions Fullfied by EDICOM
These are some of the many actions taken by EDICOM, exemplifying the efforts that have contributed to achieving such a high score in the assessment conducted by EcoVadis.
- EDICOM collaborates with the DevWomen initiative (https://devwomen.com/). The project’s fundamental purpose is to increase the representation of women in the technology sector, particularly in software development. DevWomen seeks to extensively promote information technologies, starting from educational institutions to companies. The goal is to foster the inclusion of more women with programming skills in the ICT (Information and communication technology) sector.
- We closely collaborate with training centers, particularly those specializing in technology such as la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia. Here, we provide computer resources, offer career guidance and mentorship talks, and organize technological sessions for students. This is all done with an active employment plan aimed at hiring young talent right after they have completed their studies.

- All the services we offer are geared towards enhancing the efficiency of administrative operations and eliminating paper from companies. By digitizing processes, we not only improve operational efficiency for our clients but also promote rational resource consumption such as paper or energy.
- We evaluate the impact of our activities, products, and services on aspects related to environmental protection and pollution prevention, focusing on areas identified by the company where we can influence.
- We minimize and prevent pollution by collecting and organizing paper waste, electrical materials, batteries, plastics, etc., in separate compartments that are later collected by suppliers specialized in the recycling of these products. This approach ensures that our practices are environmentally friendly and safeguard the health of our employees.
- We are continuously improving and enhancing our facilities, striving to achieve a neutral carbon footprint through initiatives, such as installing solar panels, optimizing our Data Centers, and improving the air conditioning and technical insulation systems.
Large multinational companies must diligently monitor and ensure that all their activities adhere to responsible policies and uphold socially and environmentally friendly practices within their surroundings.
This obligation must extend throughout the entire value chain of these companies, requiring their providers to also align themselves with these principles..
The score attained by EDICOM in the EcoVadis assessment reaffirms its dedication to these principles, demonstrating its suitability as a technological partner for those companies prioritizing the protection of social rights and environmental respect.
