Electronic Invoicing in Colombia – How does Compliance work in Colombia?

Since 2019, electronic invoicing has been mandatory in Colombia for all companies operating in the country. Since then, the DIAN has been evolving the electronic invoicing system by introducing new mandatory documents or updating existing ones. For instance, the registration of the electronic invoice as a negotiable instrument with new event types, or more recently, with implementation scheduled for 2023, the issuance of an electronic equivalent document to the Electronic Sales Invoice for certain sectors of the Colombian economy.
