e-Invoicing in Malaysia: How can EDICOM help you?

How to Integrate Malaysia’s e-Invoicing System with the IRBM

The e-Invoicing model in Malaysia is based on a Continuous Transaction Controls (CTC) pre-validation system. Invoices must be submitted to MyInvois, the platform operated by the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM), before they are delivered to the recipient. This process applies to domestic and cross-border B2B, B2C, and B2G transactions.

For businesses, the challenge is integrating this tax validation process into their existing workflows. Invoice data must be extracted from the ERP, transformed into the required XML or JSON format, and transmitted to the IRBM. Once the document has been validated, MyInvois returns a unique identifier and QR code, which must accompany the invoice sent to the buyer.

EDICOM’s SaaS platform connects the ERP directly with MyInvois to automate the entire exchange. The solution retrieves the invoice data, generates the document in the required format, submits it via API, and sends the IRBM response back to the company’s management system. This allows businesses to manage invoice validation and delivery without maintaining separate manual processes, an especially important advantage for organizations handling high document volumes or operating across multiple countries.

The implementation timeline, applicable thresholds, and other e-Invoicing requirements in Malaysia are subject to the current IRBM guidelines. This video walks you through the integration flow and shows how EDICOM can adapt the process to your company’s tax compliance requirements and technology environment.
